The original Blogjangles ran from 11/2005 to 02/2008 when it mysteriously disappeared. All posts erased forever, but thanks to webarchive.org I am able to salvage some junk from the site.

FROM August 14, 2007

I’m taking this shitshow to S-aaaaa-n Frannnn-cisco! That’s right. Blogjangles is headed to the west coast. People are going to have no idea what “blogjangles” means or where the namesake comes from. For example, the closest Bojangles is located on 7000-A Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209. Oh, about 2,296 miles away or a short 33 hour drive from San Francisco. However, I’ll be able to get my southern fill at a Chick-Fil-A which is about an hour north of the bay area. I know I’m going to make the mistake of driving up on a Sunday.

The good news is that I’ll actually be going to shows again. I have been treated to some decent ones in the Charlotte area - Arcade Fire in Asheville - Feist in Greensboro - Okkervil River in Asheville - Band of Horses in Charlotte - Nas in Charlotte - Album Leaf in Charlotte. I think that’s all I attended in the last year. I didn’t really take advantage of Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro. I missed being so close to Black Cat and the 9:30 club, but now I have the Fillmore, Bimbo’s 365, The Independent, Greek Theatre, The Warwick, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. I’ve already got tickets to see Stars, National, Okkervil River, Peter Bjorn and John, and maybe even some Devendra Banhart. Most of these shows are happening in September. I thought about attending the Treasure Island festival with Spoon, Modest Mouse, etc, but I can’t swing the cost with starting a new lease and moving and such.

Anyway, I’m excited and I can’t wait to enjoy some shows… Oh and live in San Francisco! Also, my skis are going to tear up Squaw and Heavenly.
