Today’s guest post is brought to us by Rebecca Fraijo. Please enjoy.

It is a pleasure to introduce Adrienne Patenaude, singer, songwriter, STAR!

Today we are discussing Miss Patenaude’s song, ‘fallinginlovewithyou.’ Take a listen to the complete song.

This song is bravely simple.  For one thing, Adrienne eschews contrivance in her songs.  Things like “music” and “sounding good” have no place in Miss Patenaude’s oeuvre.  You might not like it but I applaud her bold choice in forgoing things like, notes and instruments. Other composers would tell you otherwise.  Ugh!  ComPOSERS more like.  AMIRITE? High 5!  Anyway, I for one admire her straight forward approach to songwriting.  AP very literally tells it like it is. She doesn’t distract you with pretty language, flowery words or (barf!) metaphor. Nope. No.  Nuh-uh. Adrienne just sticks to the facts, and the facts are these:she is falling in love with you, then she stopping being in love with you, and then falling in love with someone else, and then TWIST!, loving you again.  If there is one thing I like about Adrienne Patenaude it is that you always know where you stand with her.  But did you hear that?!  She loves *you* again.  Adrienne loves you dude. You should change your phone number. You’re a pretty lucky guy.

Now this next song is pretty amazing.  Not realizing she was giving us a field day, she un-ironically titled the song, ‘Stop Singing.’  This is what happens when a girl has an assignment to read On The Road for sophomore English and then falls in and out of sleep during the lecture on stream-of-consciousness.  Also it’s the song that I would imagine Perez Hilton’s blog would sing if Perez Hilton’s blog could sing.  Now, I don’t want to start anything w/ Adrienne.  I really  hope this doesn’t become a huge controversy.  But I suspect that Heidi Montag ghostwrote this song.  Just a suspicion.  I’m sure I’m wrong. One of the reasons this song is so great is that it makes you wonder what didn’t make it to the Adrienne Patenuade discography? What gems were left on the cutting room floor?  What little nuggets of gold did Miss Patenuade deem not good enough for us, the adoring public, the rapt audience, the stunned and seizured?

The last song I’m posting is ‘personality‘.  This song sorta breaks my heart.  It is so heart breaking in fact that I’m surprised she didn’t call it, ‘heartbreaking’.  I think it should be the B-side to ‘fallinginlovewithyou.’ It really shows Adrienne from A-to-Z.  On the one hand, she is a temptress, a fickle minx.  But on the other hand she is a woman who feel rejected, dejected (Adreinne, if you are reading this, you can totally use that btw, the ‘re-jected, dejected’ thing.  Don’t mention it.) This song reveals her deepest insecurity, not having the biggest bust. Well at least she’s not too insecure to use the term, “bust.” Do you know anyone under the age of 72 that says ‘bust?”  But this song is an anthem. She is sick and tired you guys.  She is sick and tired and fed up and she has HAD IT! So enraged in fact that she had devoted a whole song about it how totally unfair it is that “all the guys” don’t care about personality.  Because if there is one thing Adrieanne Patenaude has tons of, it’s personality.  If I have one criticism of this song, it would be the last line, “they don’t really care about us.”  US?  How did I get dragged into this Adrienne?  Speak for yourself.  Dudes totally dig me.  I am freakishly good looking.

@blogjangles told me that AP used to maintain a blog and that for a while she wrote about how she hurt her back and blew out her knee and was therefore unable to write new songs.  Don’t you just hate that? How when you hurt your back and/or knee it totally just affects you being able to write songs.  Poor thing.  Stay gold ponyboy!

Full disclosure:  you should know that I actually have a personal relationship will this chanteuse.  She has accepted my friend request on facebook. No doubt we will be hearing ‘ijustacceptedafriendrequestonfacebook’ on the radio pretty soon.  Until then, keep your feet on the ground and keepreachingforthestars.
